Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS)

The needs of our communities are greater than ever before, and our population is being impacted more and more by long term conditions.

To offer better support for our patients and current healthcare system, NHS England has implemented the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS).

This provides funding for 26,000 additional roles to help support our patients and keep our services running.

Clinical Pharmacist 

Clinical Pharmacists are one of the Additional Roles the NHS is implementing - across Lichfield and Burntwood they use their expert knowledge of medication to help patients and services.

Physician Associate

Physician Associates are one of the new Additional Roles the NHS is implementing - across Lichfield and Burntwood they support practices by taking on ward rounds, patient reviews and more.

Health and wellbeing coach

Health and wellbeing coach are one of the new Additional roles the NHS implementing Lichfield and Burntwood. They  support people to take pro-active steps to improve the way they manage their physical and mental health conditions, based on what matters to them.

Adult Mental Health Practitioner

Mental health practitioners support individuals with their everyday mental wellbeing. The role is to support people whose needs are not met by local talking therapies, but who may not require ongoing secondary care services.

Social Prescribing 

Social Prescribers are one of the Additional Roles the NHS has implemented across Lichfield and Burntwood they help provide support to those who need it.

Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy technicians are one of the new Additional Roles the NHS is implementing - across Lichfield and Burntwood they support other pharmacists and patients to maximise safe practice for all.

Care Co- ordinator 

Care Co-ordinators are one of the new Additional Roles the NHS is implementing - across Lichfield and Burntwood they do a lot of behind the scenes work to keep our health service turning.

General Practice Assistant

GP Assistants support doctors in the smooth running of their surgery by handling the routine administration and some basic clinical duties enabling the GP to focus on the patient, leading to an increase in GPs time, patient satisfaction and job satisfaction.

First Contact Physiotherapists are one of the new Additional Roles the NHS is implementing - across Lichfield and Burntwood they provide expertise for musculoskeletal conditions.

Community Paramedic

Community Paramedics are one of the new Additional roles the NHS implementing Lichfield and Burntwood, They can improve access to care by seeing minor ailments and injuries in surgery. 

Advanced Nurse Practitioners

Advanced Clinical Practitioners are one of the new Additional Roles the NHS is implementing - across Lichfield and Burntwood they work alongside GP teams assessing and treating patients independently.

Digital and Transformation Lead

A Digital Transformations leads primary purpose is to support access to care through the use of technology and new initiatives. The concept allows primary care to be more effective at all levels in a developing world and improves the engagement with and sustainability of services in the community.
